São Jacinto starts the new year with free wifi

In São Jacinto it is already possible to access to the internet with no costs in different parts of the town: Marginal Frente-Ria, Ferry station, CAR Surf, Interpretative Center of the São Jacinto Dunes Reserve, Junta de Freguesia, local pools and Scouts headquarters. This is another step of the Aveiro City Council (CMA), in the development of the Aveiro Tech City initiative, which places Aveiro as one of the 127 Portuguese cities with free internet access, in public spaces.

After the implementation of the “Wi-Fi Network in the City Center of Aveiro” project, CMA intended to expand to other locations in the municipality, which has now happened with São Jacinto.

The implementation of this Wi-Fi System extended to São Jacinto takes place within the scope of the European Financing WIFI4EU, an initiative of the European Commission that aims to promote free wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) in public spaces throughout the European territory.

This financing line contributed € 15,000, for a total investment of € 19,585.26.
