High School’s Tech Labs

The strategy behind the implementation of the Tech Lab Project in Higher Education in the Academic Year 2019/2020 is complete. The 4 local high schools were involved and 16 teachers were trained (4 per school). There are now more than 300 students who have a laboratory fully equipped and adapted to the age group, with a 3D printer, robotics kits, electrical kits and computers.

The objective of the project is: to promote the taste for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics; offer innovative and creative tools; consolidate critical thinking, promote experimentation and self-learning; and promoting collaborative work, resilience and problem-solving skills.

As a vehicle to meet the objectives, and in line to what happened with the Tech Labs’s project in primary schools, 16 high school teachers have conducted a training program in the use of STEAM contents and in its implementation in classroom.

The implementation of the project in 2020/2021 started with more teachers involved, continuing to promote sessions in the classroom and to support all teachers involved in the autonomous use of the equipment and materials. We will continue to train and involve teachers and students through the methodological “Learn by doing” approach.
